Changing battery is no sweat at all however. To replace just lift the glass top. If you don't know you can ask the shop or sales guy to show you b4 you buy. Nothing like 'show and tell'.

3 - Yes, normal gun will fire the gas. But it's better you use the hob igniter. Again these questions can be asked of the sales guy bcoz no words can accurately explain or help you understand better.

4 - Yes, 2 burners can be used at the same time.

5 - Pl don't ask inane questions like will 2 0r 3 burners suit you, or will stain steel suit you better, etc bcoz i am not you, only you know, right?

cheers!GreenCoalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07044355339732126910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6394809379509539560.post-68778671138244955992012-07-10T16:10:07.154+08:002012-07-10T16:10:07.154+08:00This came from Sygnur via my mail:

I've read ur blog regarding reviews on fujioh hood and rinnai hob.

I'm pretty sure that i'm gonna get fujioh fx-900r coz it seems to fit my cooking style; frying sambal, stir fry veg, curries among other typical malay dishes.

What i'm not sure is what kind of hob should i go for. U are using rinnai glass hob, 2 burners, so how does it perform after close to 3 years? I understand it uses battery ignition, has the battery failed, yet? How do u replace it then? Can it be turned on by normal 'fire gun'? Do rinnai agent/distributor does the changes of parts for a fee?

Will the stainless steel rinnai hob be better suit me?2 rings? 3 rings? Can the hob take simultaneous cooking, eg; both burners are turned on at the same time?

I'm sorry if i'm asking a lot of questions. i don't want to buy big purchases blind and have regrets later.

Thanks so much...
NurGreenCoalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07044355339732126910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6394809379509539560.post-24474200740952482572012-07-08T15:52:18.962+08:002012-07-08T15:52:18.962+08:00Thank you for visiting my blog.

Anyone who is just an occasional baker will probably find the Rinnai perform no worse or better than the average oven. But for me - I am passionate about cooking - the Rinnai oven did not meet my expectations. I would probably invest in a better equipped oven, probably a Miele! hahaha! I got what I paid for, I was at fault. Can't simply pay for a Toyota and expect it to perform like a Ferrari!

Yes, I baked oat cookies, cheesecake, melt-in-yr-mouth scones - and they were all delish!

So baking - no problem. It's roasting and grilling that I find inadequate, like no rotiserie, etc but still can manage. Hence 3.5 stars. Check out my verdict post. And food blog favrecipes.blogspot.com.

Have a nice day!

RGreenCoalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07044355339732126910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6394809379509539560.post-21061725913380211482012-06-26T10:31:18.586+08:002012-06-26T10:31:18.586+08:00Hi, may I know ur verdict for your rinnai oven? I'll be starting reno in my new hdb flat so there's already plastic floor traps installed in the kitchen and toilets. We might have to build a cabinet base over the kitchen's drainage so will need an outlet channel.

How does your toilet outlet work? I saw in your other posts they put a pipe through the plastic trap?ykhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10689132765675654474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6394809379509539560.post-76342408935807174892012-06-18T10:44:50.985+08:002012-06-18T10:44:50.985+08:00Yes, dk, before the reno started i told the id cle...Yes, dk, before the reno started i told the id clearly i wanted stainless steel for the floor waste trap. However, by the time i went to the flat and saw the id / tiler already did the floor waterproofing, it was too late to do anything abt the waste-trap other than to hack the floor all over again. Which damages the waterproofing layer. The id was pathetic, and said sorry many times, so what could i do? i relented and he assured me it would look nicer, more aesthetic, blah, blah. Beauty was not what i wanted, i wanted practicality! In the end i had to go along, or the schedule will be set back by a couple of weeks.

By then I had been scheduled to move into the flat in 1 week's time boz i had over-extended moving from my old apt by 1 month already, and the 3-month period given had expired! So, yes, the careless id / tiler did me in.

Now i'm paying the mistake cost - my drainage is blocked and i hv to solve it at much cost.

So you're right, never compromise or be lenient with the id, if it concerns something as impt as the floor trap, if he has to do it all lover at his cost, insist on it n don't be soft-hearted.GreenCoalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07044355339732126910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6394809379509539560.post-62994058766157202582012-06-18T00:27:42.300+08:002012-06-18T00:27:42.300+08:00Hi, I don't understand the part about the wate...Hi, I don't understand the part about the water outlet holes. And i was frustrated using charcoal filters as i had to replace the oil-soaked filter quite often. Then when Haw Par stopped selling Bauknet, parts became impossible to get as most retailers don't sell premium German products owing to high cost and low demand.

Asian-style cooking (we stir fry a lot!) is usually greasy and oily. I suggest you consider getting a hood that uses a metal oil filter instead of charcoal filter for easy maintenance. An oil container catches the condensed dripping oil as you cook. We were amazed how fast the Fujioh hood fills up.

Check out the several posts on the Fujioh hood on my blog. There are so many benefits - excellent oil filtration and extraction, easy maintenance, metal filter means no need to waste time to buy replacement carbon filters, no mess, etc.

We never regret for one moment buying the Fujioh hood.GreenCoalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07044355339732126910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6394809379509539560.post-54608343049602294502012-06-09T11:19:03.525+08:002012-06-09T11:19:03.525+08:00Hi,

Stains are a problem for this sink, note other users in US have reported it too. You're right, powders such as Cip stick to the composite material. I use a hard bristle brush to clean the sink once a week and that takes care of the problem for a week. If the 2 issues don't worry you, then this sink is -in my view - good value for money. But, as stated, I won't buy it again. Too much work for me in maintaining its clean look! * grin *GreenCoalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07044355339732126910noreply@blogger.com
